Sunrise in the hills above Alamo, California in the East San Francisco Bay Area. The foothills in this area offer some breath-taking views of the valley below, but in this particular instance the sun coming through the trees, coupled with the trail we'd just come up, made this an irresistible setting.
Graduating from San Jose State University with a BS in photojournalism, Don Hoekwater moved away from photographing events to more artistic and creative imaging. While his photographs retain their realism, Don expands the colors and details that result in beautifully stunning views full of color and awe. The vision is to enhance what nature and the surrounding world provide without taking away any of the wonder and majesty of our world.
