Description
A tule elk hams for the camera in Redwoods National Park. Tule elk are native to, and only in, California and range from the Central Valley up the Northern Coast. This herd was near the town of Orick, Calif. These elk are used to human presence and aren't afraid, as they've never been shot at or attacked by humans. People, however, still need to respect that these are wild animals. They are magnificent creatures.
