Description
This was a storm that rolled into Death Valley that I caught on my way out from Day 1 at The Racetrack. In the strange and wonderful ways of DV this storm was dumping snow on "Dry Mountain" yet hardly any rain made it to the Valley floor.
I like this one in the fact that you see the contrasting of the water in the mountains but can still see the desolation and dryness of the harsh desert, almost like the vegetation in the foreground is begging for the water to reach it (who knows, maybe it is).
My vision is to enhance what nature and our surroundings provide without taking away any of the wonder and majesty of our world. When working with people the goal is to also enhance the beauty and dignity already within each and every one of us.
After graduating from San Jose State University with a BS in photojournalism, I moved away from photographing events to more artistic and creative imaging. While my photographs retain their realism, I expand the colors and details that result in beautifully stunning views full of beauty and awe.
I use Canon equipment along with digital editing software such as Lightroom and Photoshop. I specialize in scenic landscapes and seascapes, living in one of the most beautiful areas in the world, as well as fashion portraiture, often combining the two.
"My wish is for you to view the images here and more deeply appreciate the spectacular beauty that nature has so freely given us. To inspire you to visit these places, as well as taking a moment to look around and give a deeper mind to what's near, is what I hope you find here." - Don
