California Sunset Canvas Print

This is a composite of sunsets taken from Mt. Tamalpias in Marin County, just north of San Francisco, and a beach just south of Mendocino, Calif. I had captured the sunset from Mt. Tam, which was gorgeous, but it lacked a sky, really. Hence the addition from a shoot I did in Mendocino some years earlier. It really made the image come alive.

Graduating from San Jose State University with a BS in photojournalism, Don Hoekwater moved away from photographing events to more artistic and creative imaging. While his photographs retain their realism, Don expands the colors and details that result in beautifully stunning views full of color and awe. The vision is to enhance what nature and the surrounding world provide without taking away any of the wonder and majesty of our world.
